About Me

I am a normal guy that has a love affair with my grill. My wife says that she wishes that I would look at her the same way that I look at my grill, and get as excited to spend an evening with her as I do when I get to fire up the grill for dinner.

I started really grilling about five years ago, and was hooked from the get go. I have learned all that I know from the school of hard knocks, and ruined about as much food as I have eaten, but I have always had fun with it.

I started this blog as a way to share the techniques that I have learned, and showcase some of my favorite grilling recipes. As you will find in the posts of this blog, I prefer to grill rather than barbecue, I do spend a fair amount of my time smoking a boston butt or packers cut brisket for hours on end, but grilling hot and fast is in my blood.

From 1999 to 2001 I spent my time in the Northeast of Brazil getting to know the people, culture, and food of Brazil. That experience has, more than any other affected my grilling tastes and techniques. I am currently in the middle of constructing a Brazilian Churrasquera in my backyard.
